Fragile + Resilient

These beautiful wild pansies bloom every year in our flower bed.  They are so delicate and so strong at the same time.  Sometimes I feel like our bodies and our minds are like that.  Even though we may be fragile, we are also resilient, and this gives me hope.

Whenever you feel sick, tired and weak, or your body feels broken and in pain, remember that your body can heal. With time, rest, nourishment, love and the power of prayer, your body can become strong and energized again.

Whenever you feel sad and depressed, remember the joy that you’ve experienced in the past and look forward to more joy that you will experience in the future.  This heavy weight of overwhelm and thick fog of grief will lift. You will have more energy and you will feel the warm glow of happiness again.

Whenever you feel an empty ache of loneliness, remember that you are loved, simply because you exist.  God loves you, people around you love you and people you haven’t even met yet will love you when they are blessed to meet you.

Whenever you feel frustrated or stuck, look around and try to see what is happening that may need your attention.  Maybe you need to learn, receive or let go of something before that next door opens.  This awareness may give you a sense of calm, understanding and excitement about what might be coming next, in your perfect timing.

Whenever you feel agitated with fear, pay attention to where this is coming from, and listen with love and compassion.  This fear may be trying to protect you or motivate you to take action.  Use that fear to center you and open your heart to act with kindness and courage.

Whenever you feel like there is not enough for you, that others have more wealth, more love or better health and you are feeling insecure with fears of scarcity, choose to be inspired instead of jealous.  Dream big and know there is abundance and more than enough for you too.

Whenever you feel bad or guilty for being blessed with so much, choose gratitude and generosity over guilt. The more you have, the more you can share and give to others.

There are different seasons of life with some cold, dark days and some warm, sunny days.  I hope whatever season you are in and whatever your day is like today, you have hope for the brighter days that are yet to come.
