Teen Approved Smoothie

Mornings when the girls need to get up early and be out the door by 7:00 AM for school, I make them a smoothie with almond milk, a frozen banana, berries, baby spinach, peanut butter and two drops of liquid Vitamin D.

I keep it easy and nourishing with these simple ingredients.  A smoothie is a quick way to get them hydrated and make sure they have some healthy protein, fat, fiber and vitamins in there too.

This recipe below fills two full 12 ounce glasses.  If your teenager or child has a nut allergy, you may consider using a different kind of nut free and dairy free milk like oat or rice milk and a seed butter like SunButter.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk

  • ½ cup frozen blueberries

  • 4 frozen strawberries

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter

  • 1 handful of baby spinach

  • 4 drops liquid Vitamin D

Directions:

  1. Prepare and measure all the ingredients.

  2. Pour them into the blender and blend.

  3. Pour into two glasses and add reusable straws.

Bon appétit!
